Thanks to HRC New Zealand

The Health Research Council has recognized the value of research in dialysis through funding of two trials (total of $2.6 million), TEACH-PD and PHOSPHATE in New Zealand in the 2019 funding round that released $81 million to health research. These two trials are focused on the issues that matter most to dialysis patients, and are aimed to improve quality of life and quality of dialysis healthcare. The funding will help to develop 2 large simple trials across New Zealand that allow research to be fully embedded within “business as usual” clinical practices. This means dialysis teams can care for their patients while doing research simultaneously, and is aiming to be a step-change in the cost and simplicity of clinical trials in New Zealand.
